Product Description

2018 Vintage Jancis Robinson awards a very healthy 17/20 with comments  ''Rooibos! Distinct terroir character here – whether it’s fynbos or tea or whatever, it certainly seems to reflect its home. Excellent softness and complexity. As valid a fine wine as many reds or whites – really shows what great rosé can do. Finishes with a long, mealy length.''

100% Mourvedre - so typical to the famous Bandol Rose of Southern France however this is a fraction of the price and offers outstanding value. A very serious Cape Rosé. Beautifully dry, but firm with an evocative herby character. Elegant fresh red fruit flavours allow for immediate appeal. The pale onion-skin colour is reminiscent of a typical Blanc de Noir from the South of France. Beautifully dry, with clean minerality and a herbal character. Elegant fresh fruit flavours with a delicate hint of creamy dried apricot and fig, give way to a delicate, stony minerality.

Another Rose in The Wine Merchants Top 100 - this is made from Mourvedre grapes in a Bandol-style ( think uber-expensive southern French) It's the beautiful, creamy texture that does it for me - as well as the gorgeous dry, fruit with herby nuances. Jancis Robinson gives this a healthy 16/20 ..'The good broad fruit on the palate and a satisfying dry finish pushes this into the food rose category. Much more oomph and impact than 12.5% alcohol would suggest.'
