Product Description

Fresh, crisp aromatics with lifted green fruit, ripe apple and floral aromas. Flavours of greengage, citrus acidity and a fine, mineral finish. Great alternative to New Zealand sauvignon.

The 'windswept' vineyards in Stellenbosch are just 3 miles from the sea and the coastal breezes temper the heat and the poor quality soil restricts grape growth to meagre yields of little berries that are concentrated full of fruit and acidity. Fresh and zesty with grassy and dry bay leaf aromatics, mineral notes, with hints of richness. This is a restrained Sauvignon Blanc with a palate that has lots of minerality and citrus with just a touch of green pepper and grass.

"From Schapenberg and ocean-facing Stellenbosch vines, 2016 packs a lime and goosberry punch, green apple adding freshness, some weight from lees-ageing." Platter's South African Wine Guide 2017 - 3.5 stars
