An exraordinary wine in many ways - quite unusual, different but immensely satisfying
A smooth, ripe and supple Gamay, enlivened by a subtle feral element. Richly fruited, with complex layers of Burgundian-style berry fruit interwoven with herbal, dried fruit and beetroot characters. There is an umami and soy sauce/saline/mineral note on the long finish that works deliciously with the dark fruit flavours.
When the 2018 is gone, we will move on to the 2021 vintage at £22.50 - so I reckon you ought to get stuck in now to the 2018?
