Gold Global Rose Masters - Summer 2024  with the judges comments  “How refreshing to find a fine, good-value, pale pink, dry rosé that isn’t from France. Using mostly Pinot Grigio, but also a touch of Chardonnay, this Italian wine has delicate characters of peach and pear fruit, some cherry and a touch of white pepper too. Light, but not thin, with a fresh finish. Patrick Schmitt MW”

High quality Pinot Grigio Rose is a rarity. This fine, delicate version defies expectations and comfortably fits the trend for pale, gentle 'Provence style' Rose. It follows the traditional 'ramato' style, using the natural dusky pink colour of ripe PG grapes to give a pale, coppery rose. A short soak of 5 or 6 hours in the press gives an attractive coral pink colour and the slightest of red berry fruit but keeps the wine delicate.
