Product Description

On Offer for Summer 2025 - normally retailing at £11.40

Following on from the Gold Medal in the Sommelier Wine Awards for the 2019 vintage, this wine is showing why Pecorino is the most fashionable of grape varieties and why the most amount of new vineyards are being planted with this indigenous variety. At this point, I should point out that you should not get this confused with the cheese of the same name?!

Vibrant aromas of stone fruit with citrus and grapefruit notes. The palate is crisp and zesty with layers of fresh peachy, tropical fruit characters. Lively and approachable, with texture and minerality giving depth, and backed by lively acidity.

Victoria Moore wrote back in 2017 in The Telegraph  for her wine of the week “The joy of a refreshing Italian white. The grape variety here is pecorino, grown in Abruzzo; the taste is preserved lemons, grapefruit pith and bay, with citrus oil and roasted almond.”

Rocco Pasetti of Contesa, is one of Abruzzo’s winemaking pioneers, and his wines are unquestionably amongst the best in the region. Now working alongside his son Franco, also a winemaker, their portfolio includes the Caparrone range of characterful indigenous varieties.
