This is a surprisingly good wine! A handy every day, easy quaffing wine.
Doing what South African winemakers do best - they blend! A concoption of predominantly Cinsault and Shiraz - this is an approachable, crunchy young red with a touch of spice on the finish. Bright, youthful aromas of fresh red berries with hints of summer pudding. The palate is fresh and sappy with crushed Morello cherries and a cranberry tang.
Whole bunch pressing and controlled fermentation give a forward and accessible style. After malolactic fermentation, a portion of the final blend is passed through a spinning cone column, reducing the alcohol level while preserving the volatile compounds which give flavour and quality. This is then blended back to give a fresh and balanced wine of around 11.2%.
The low level of Alcohol means the duty is lower than normal hence the great price.
